Variety of Georgia and Simon Malls team up to collect back-to-school supplies for disadvantaged youth in the Metro Atlanta area. Backpack & school supply donations are welcomed at the following malls: Gwinnett Place, Mall of Georgia, Northlake Mall, Phipps Plaza & Town Center at Cobb. Collection boxes will be located at the Guests Services booths. Items accepted include backpacks, pens, pencils, paper, glue, crayons, erasers, scissors, etc. Variety of Georgia will fill the backpacks with school supplies for distribution to local schools and shelters. The filled backpacks will be earmarked for disadvantaged children at each location.

The Marietta Museum of History now has tours for the smallest of visitors. Based on programs by the Smithsonian Institute's Early Enrichment Center, tours are offered to toddlers & their parents. Different topics will be offered on the 2nd Wed.of every month. The purpose of the one-hour tours is to introduce toddlers to history through very basic concepts like shapes, sounds, games, tools & jobs. Museum Mascots Murray and Etta are whimsical cartoon mice that will help convey the themes for the tours and provide a little fun. The Upward Flag Football league for boys and girls and Cheerleading is designed for pre-k through eighth grade. Through sports ministry, Upward promotes salvation, character and self-esteem in every child. Teams practice once a week and play on Saturdays. Practices are 1 hour and games are 1 hour. Saturday Morning Coaching School - a developmental program designed for children ages 3 to 10.
