WIN Gorton's Frozen Seafood Items

Now Offering Gluten Free Products Too!

April 18, 2012
GIVEAWAY CLOSED

When you hear the name Gorton's, you probably think fish sticks...and of course you're not wrong. My kids have been eating Gorton's fish sticks since they were, umm, tater tots. Last night I got creative, thanks to this recipe from Gortons.com. They call it Stick Stackers - but I called it Fish Stick Jenga. Either way, making food fun always helps with kids! I just wish I'd thought to have Jack wear his yellow raincoat for this photo - it would have been so appropriate! The kids loved their dinner and wanted to know when we could make it again. Success!

Gorton's, however, offers much more than just fish sticks. CLICK HERE to see their full list of products! I found the Classic Grilled Shrimp (serves 2) and made shrimp tacos with avocado the other night. Yummy (and no peeling required!).

Brand new products include Gorton's Skillet Crisp Tilapia. Seasoned and ready to go, you can't get much easier than this - and it's next on my list of products to try.

For those in search of Gluten Free products, Gorton's grilled fish is now Gluten Free! Options include Grilled fillets, Grilled Haddock, Grilled Salmon and Grilled Tilapia in a variety of flavors (varies by region). The taste remains the same, but now procedures have been implemented to avoid cross-contamination, and there is ongoing monitoring and testing to ensure that the Grilled Fish is gluten free. The USDA's new Dietary Guidelines recommend that those ages 3 and up consume at least two servings of seafood a week. Eat more seafood and help fight obesity and improve your overall health. Fish and seafood – like shrimp, tilapia, and salmon – are a natural source of lean protein and critical nutrients like vitamins and minerals including iron; zinc; and vitamins A, B and D. But what really sets fish apart from other healthy foods is that it is a natural source of two healthy omega-3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Research shows these omega-3 fatty acids promote good health and may reduce your risk of chronic disease. Since our bodies cannot make omega-3 fatty acids, it’s important to regularly include them in our diets. Read more HERE.
