ABOUT THE SOUND OF MUSIC SING-A-LONG
The Sound of Music Sing-a-long launched in New York in September 2000 at the Zeigfeld Theatre in Manhattan with a gala performances attended by Charmian Carr (Leisel) Richard Hammond (Fredrich) Heather Menzies (Louisa), Duan Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta) , Debbie Turner (Marta) Kym Karath (Gretl), Daniel Truitte (Rolf) and 3 goats.

It went onto to take the country by storm in 2001 playing extended runs at the Castro in San Francisco, the Hal Prince in Philadelphia, the Fox in St Louis, the Music Box in Chicago, the 5th Avenue in Seattle, the Ordway in Minneapolis and the Coolidge in Boston in 2001.

Undoubtedly the highlight of 2001 was a sell-out performance at the historic Hollywood Bowl to 18,000 people including not only all the children from the movie but film's director Robert Wise and writer Ernest Lehman.

Subsequent years has not only seen expansion across the whole of the US but 8 more sell out shows at the Hollywood Bowl as well as annual runs in Chicago San Francisco & Seattle.

With the latest sell out at the Hollywood Bowl and new hit engagements in 2011 at the Wolf Trap in Washington, the Booth Amphitheatre in North Carolina and the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta in the 46th year of the film the world remains alive to singing along to the sound of music.
