It's the first official day of summer, and when I got into my car around noon, I could definitely tell! We've had such beautiful weather...cool breezy evenings. Not at all typical for Atlanta in June. But the heat is here, and I'm ready. Our summer travels start this weekend with a trip to Chattanooga - thanks to everyone who commented on my Facebook post and offered suggestions on where to go. It will be our first trip, and we're going to be guests of The Chattanoogan Hotel. We can't wait! Aquarium and See Rock City - here we come! Next up - Myrtle beach in July.....
The boys have been with their grandparents this week for "Nanny and Poppit Camp." It's awfully strange being in the house without children! But they are having SO much fun in the Georgia mountains. Apparently Drew is quite the golfer at age 7, and I might have to add more golf lessons to my bucket list (see SUMMER BUCKET LIST article below). He also is playing some mean ping pong - he says it's thanks to Xbox with Kinect. Maybe you CAN learn skills that way! And both boys went fishing for the first time in the big pond at the base of the mountain. Drew caught his first fish! His words..." It weirded me out!" Apparently it made Jack sad for the fish. My guys are really animal lovers, so fishing may not be for them....I'm just glad they're enjoying the fresh air and enjoying all that summer has to offer. Now I'm ready for them to come home! There's no picture this week because, well, I have no kids to take pictures of (unless you include my wild pack of dogs). It seemed appropriate to go without.....
My husband just walked in and suggested we go out to dinner...alone! So I'm going to wrap this up and walk out the door. Quickly!

Hi Michelle,
We just came back from Chattanooga...Be sure to visit Ruby Falls (an amazing), ride the Inclined Railway (awesome view) and definitely visit Rock City (beautiful flowers for day.)

So funny about the fishing! I can't blame them-weirds me out too. I love to eat fish but I have no interest in catching them! Nor scaling or deboning them!!! Glad they had a blast and that you all got to have some alone time :). Have fun in Chatanooga!!
Have your say
