THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN is out in theaters and both my children are obsessed with SUPERHEROES! It wasn’t hard to decide that our next party needed to have a SUPERHERO theme! This theme is a sure-fire winner because it appeals to both boys and girls of a variety of ages. It is a party theme that will let young imaginations soar! After all, superheroes exhibit unique skills, wear colorful costumes and save the world! Armed with a superhero theme, the logistics simply fall into place - beginning with the SUPERHERO cape! I wanted custom capes, so I used Pip and Bean, who sell their items on Etsy.com. Etsy is a wonderful online store where you can buy custom goods from around the world.
PIP AND BEAN had the largest assortment of colors, best quality, and I loved their mission! According to the store owners, “We’ve always been struck by the importance of creative development and imaginative play for children. The quest to keep pace with our own children’s imagination led to a number of costumes and creative projects. Whatever it took to unplug our kids from the TV and help them build a world of their own... What started with tutus, led to princess costumes and eventually a superhero cape. Eventually that cape became a birthday present for our daughter’s friend which turned into a booth at a craft fair and then an online shop."
Two years (and thousands of capes) later Pip and Bean sells custom Super Hero capes, costumes, masks…etc. all over the world. Pip and Bean Super Hero capes are made of polyester satin and felt. The capes are washable (because superheroes get dirty) and close with a Velcro clasp (because we’re safety paranoid parents too). "Whenever possible we use materials with high-recycled content and our felt is 100% recycled PET. Most of our capes are personalized and are all custom-made in Bloomington, IN.”
