Salt Dough Recipe:
1 cup salt
1 cup flour
3/4 cup water

Combine the flour and salt and add water gradually. Knead it until it gets a dough-like consistency. If it's too sticky, add more flour. If it won't hold together, add more water 1 tsp at a time.

Materials:
Acrylic Paints (gold, silver, and bronze)
Paint brush(s)
ribbon

Directions:
Shape Salt Dough into a circle about one cm thick. I used a mason jar lid to help shape it, but cookie cutters or other household items work great, too. Using a straw, poke a hole at the top (this
is where the string will go through).

Press a 1, 2, and 3 into each shape. I used molds from a Play-Doh(R) kit.

Place onto a baking sheet (I also used wax paper to help keep it from sticking) and bake for about 2 hours at 200 degrees, turning once during "baking."

Once they have cooled, it's time to paint!

Now your medals are ready!
