Gas South opens its 2012-2013 Broadway Series with CHICAGO – Thursday, October 4 through Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

CHICAGO opened to rave reviews on November 14th, 1996, and now has the distinction of being the longest running American musical in Broadway history and fourth longest-running production in Broadway history, and... shows no sign of ever slowing down! It's one of my personal favorites.

Murder. Greed. Corruption. Violence. Exploitation. Adultery. Treachery. Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids. (This one's not for kids - great for a girls' night out!)

With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

SHOWTIMES:
Performances of Chicago at the Cobb Energy Centre will be held Thursday, October 4 thru Sunday, October 7th. The shows are scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 thru Saturday, October 6 with 2:00 p.m. matinees on both Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7th.

Tickets are affordably priced from $22.00 - $70.00 plus service charges and are available at the Centre’s Bank of North Georgia Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlet locations, Ticketmaster.com or via phone at 800-745-3000.
