Cool Events, School's IN and Dr. Seuss's Birthday is Next Week

Smyrna Vinings Marietta Macaroni Kid - Your Weekly Events & Activities Newsletter

February 26, 2015
Sorry kids. It's time to go back to school.

It's been a wild ride the last two weeks, but really, it's time to get back on schedule. Even though I've enjoyed sleeping in and having a break from the daily grind. (Especially since we had no scheduled winter break in Cobb County.)

Some of us experienced snow. Or sleet. Or ice. Some didn't.  My kids loved their one real snow day...short though it was. It was pretty over here in East Cobb (photo above). The sledding photos came out blurry. Ah well.

My parents in Jasper really got snow - about 8 inches. How'd you like to be here? Hard to believe this is only about 45 minutes north of me!

So tomorrow it's back to reality. For how long, we'll see. NEXT WEEK Daylight Savings Time starts. Yippee!!! Let's hope some warm weather comes with that.

I wonder just how many of you are going to Florida for Spring Break. I'm seriously considering it now. But, if you are staying put - check out the article in this week's edition on some SPRING BREAK CAMPS being offered around the area. And in less than two weeks, the SUMMER CAMP GUIDE will be live. Crazy!

WINNER ALERT

Congrats to the winner of last week's giveaway!

Tess B. won 4 tickets to I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE at Cobb Energy Centre on March 13th.

SO...
Back next week! Time to get some sleep!
I'll start pinning to the Dr. Seuss Pinterest board tomorrow...but lots of happenings at local libraries to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday March 2nd - also known as READ ACROSS AMERICA Day! Many are listed in this week's edition. Guess we'll be having green eggs and ham for breakfast on Monday.
