2015 Museum Week - BOGO & FREE Admission! April 25th - May 1st, 2015

Special Offers at 35 Atlanta Cultural Institutions

April 23, 2015

For the first time in Atlanta’s history, participating cultural institutions will offer special admission deals for the general public between April 25th and May 1st as a way to celebrate the city’s museums and cultural destinations. This is being done in conjunction with the 2015 American Alliance of Museums (AAM) Annual Meeting in Atlanta. Themed “Discover What’s New,” this first annual Museum Week is designed to invite people to explore the diverse cultural offerings the city has to offer.

The theme of the Atlanta 2015 AAM Annual Meeting is The Social Value of Museums: Inspiring Change. The founding impulse of museums was social interaction, connection and engagement with the public. From their origins, museums have continually evolved to nurture and sustain the human spirit. Today these institutions teach, inspire, collect, preserve and interpret and fulfill their public service roles as community centers, forums for discussing the pressing social and political issues of the day while learning from the issues of the past. The goal of 2015 Museum Week is to use this as a foundation on which to help the Atlanta community to engage with the wealth of wonderful institutions in the community.
