Theo and Leona, members of the pride family from the 10-time Emmy® Award-winning PBS KIDS series Between the Lions, will roar into Atlanta to perform live, interactive shows presented in conjunction with Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB). While in GA for the fourth annual Between the Lions Roadshow, Leona and Theo (Atlanta native, puppeteer Peter Linz) will perform live shows at the Center for Puppetry Arts, then they’ll head to the Georgia State Fair for five days of shows. During the Roadshow, they’ll bring the television series to life by encouraging children and their families to read, sing along, and recognize words in the world around them. Engaging and animated books will encourage audience participation, and Aaron Nigel Smith, founder of FUNdamentals of Music and Movement, will add his original award-winning music to the mix. Between the Lions airs locally on GPB weekdays at 1pm.
Between the Lions shows at the Center for Puppetry Arts will be held on Friday, April 30th at 6pm and 7pm. Performances are free; however, seating is limited and advance reservations are highly recommended. Tickets may be reserved by calling 404-873-3391. Due to the popularity of the show, there is a limit of four (4) tickets per reservation. Also, please note that reserved tickets not claimed 10 minutes prior to show time will be released to walk up patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. Late arriving patrons, who miss the performance, will still be able to visit the museum exhibits and participate in the photo opportunity. For more information, CLICK HERE. Audience members may not take photos in the theater or museum exhibits, but there will be a meet and greet photo opportunity with the Lions after the 7pm show.
