CHOA Tower of Talent

Sunday, December 4 at 4:30pm at Cobb Energy Centre

December 1, 2016
Do you have a talented kid in the family who loves to sing, dance, perform or play a musical instrument?  Then take them to see the “Tower of Talent” performing arts show this Sunday, December 4 from 4:30-6:00pm at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

Celebrating its third successful year, Tower of Talent features Atlanta’s most talented kids ages 6 to 18 in a world-class concert and vocal performance.  From Beethoven to Broadway, over 140 kids will perform, sing and entertain to raise funds for the music therapy program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. (CHOA).  Music Therapy has proven to be a significant partner in the healing process of children, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta relies on donation dollars to staff and provide this important program to their patients.

The concert’s classical music addition was inspired by Musicologist and Piano Teacher Dr. Woodruff and his popular book Dr. Fuddle and the Gold Baton, and the concert has soared under the direction of Lynn Stallings, Executive Director of The Atlanta Workshop Players.  Some of the kids appearing in the show were patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, but every talented young performer wants to help other children live their dreams out loud.  Joining these performers will be The Roswell High School Orchestra under the direction of Sara Payne and the Atlanta Academy of Vocal Arts under Director Maria McDaniel Willathgamuwa. The meaningful idea was initiated and created by businessman and philanthropist, Michael Greenbaum, who is dedicated to a legacy of love and support for medically fragile children.

Emcee’s Channel 11 Television Anchorwoman Brenda Wood and Master of Ceremonies Tom Sullivan will co-host the concert along with appearances by WPBA’s Alicia Steele and "Atlanta & Company" Host Christine Pullara.  A filmed welcome will kick-off the show by celebrity Ryan Seacrest and this star-studded show guarantees a fabulous time to be had by everyone in attendance.
