4th of July Fireworks, Parades and Festivals - Your Guide for 2017

The 4th of July is coming up quickly. Here's a guide to area happenings including parades, festivals & fireworks!


STAR-SPANGLED SPECTACULAR AT KSU

DATE: July 1

TIME: 5:00pm - 10pm

WHAT: 10th Annual Star-Spangled Spectacular is a free, annual event is held on the Campus Green in the heart of KSU’s Kennesaw Campus and features a patriotic concert with performances by the KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra followed by a spectacular fireworks finale. In addition to the concert, be sure to arrive early beginning at 5 p.m. to enjoy the Family Fun Festival featuring games, inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, food trucks, vendors and exhibits and more.

SANDY SPRINGS STARS AND STRIPES CELEBRATION

DATE: July 2

TIME: 7:30pm-10pm

WHAT: The community is invited to pack a picnic and enjoy the afternoon and evening on the lawn, with fireworks beginning at 9:45 p.m. Music from the band, Shiloh, will begin at 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: The official viewing area will be located on the lawn at the Concourse Corporate Center, located at Five Concourse Parkway.

COST: No admission fee


CITY OF KENNESAW'S SALUTE TO AMERICA

DATE: July 3

TIME: 6pm-10pm. Fireworks start at 9:30pm.

WHAT: Salute to America eventgoers will be treated to two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors and plenty of activities for the kids.

WHERE: Downtown Kennesaw

COST: FREE Admission


MARIETTA FOURTH IN THE PARK!

DATE: July 4

TIME: 10am-10pm

WHAT: The City of Marietta cordially invites the public to celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4 from 10am - 10pm, beginning with the Let Freedom Ring Parade at 10am followed by a celebration on the Square, free concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and a fireworks finale. The Let Freedom Ring Parade will include about 85 entries and approximately 2,000 participants.

INDIAN HILLS COUNTRY CLUB

DATE: July 4

TIME: Dusk

WHAT:  Indian Hills Country Club has fireworks for their members. However, the community is invited to grab a seat on the lawn to view the fireworks.

COST: FREE


3RD ANNUAL BBQ AND BLUEGRASS AT BARRINGTON HALL (Roswell)

DATE: July 4

TIME: 10am-4pm

WHAT: Enjoy barbecue and bluegrass music in the backyard of Barrington Hall. The King family, who built Barrington Hall, held a 4th of July barbecue for their friends and neighbors on the 1800s. We will revisit their tradition with live music, barbecue, beer, soft drinks, and desserts for sale. A children's area will keep the youngsters occupied with games and crafts. Come enjoy this laidback and musical 4th of July celebration.

COST: Admission is free; there will be food and drink available for purchase.


ROSWELL ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA

DATE: July 4

TIME: 5:30pm to 10pm

WHAT: The18th Annual Roswell Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Roswell High School on the front lawn. This is a great family event filled with live stage performances, a Kids Zone and food trucks too! Bring your picnic blankets, chairs, and the entire family. No dogs please. Roswell High is a drug, alcohol and tobacco free school).

JULY 4 CONCERT AND FIREWORKS (Acworth)

DATE: July 4

TIME: 4pm-10pm

WHAT: Festivities will feature live music, food vendors and fireworks at Cauble Park. Vendors will be open for business starting at noon, live music starts at 4:00 p.m. and fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m., weather permitting and subject to change.

WHERE: Cauble Park, 4415 Senator Russell Ave., Acworth

COST: FREE Admission, Tables available for reserve (fee)


CELEBRATION ON THE LAWN (Powder Springs)

DATE: July 4

TIME: 7pm-10pm

WHAT: Children's activities, entertainment, food and fireworks! Games, inflatables, vendors, and food available throughout the event.

WHERE: Historic Town Square, 4488 Pineview Dr., Powder Springs

COST: FREE and Open to the Public


FREEDOM FEST (Woodstock)

DATE: July 4

TIME: 10am-10pm

WHAT: PARADE begins at 10am at Woodstock Elementary and will follow Main Street to Sam's Club.FREEDOM FEST will run from 11am-3pm in the Park at City Center (101 Arnold Mill Road) featuring food, live music, children's games, arts and crafts and more. FIREWORKS will begin at dusk behind the Target shopping center at Hwy 92 and 575.

JULY 4 PARADE & FIREWORKS (Douglasville)

DATE: July 4

TIME: Parade (10am), Festival (11am), Fireworks (8:45pm)

WHAT: 4th of July fun!

WHERE: Downtown Douglasville. Parade will travel West down Church St. A new event this year is Festival at the park, beginning at 11am in Hunter Park. Fireworks can be seen from the Arbor Place Mall parking lot.

COST: FREE Admission, $3 wristband for festival rides


STARS, STRIPES AND CARTERSVILLE JULY 4 CELEBRATION

DATE: JULY 4

TIME: 2pm to 10pm

WHAT: Arts & Crafts, children’s activities, entertainment and a huge firework show!! All activities are at Dellinger Park on the football field. Century Bank of Georgia stage will showcase music all day with concert starting at 8:00 p.m. featuring Peachtree Station and ending with a huge fireworks celebration. An Enormous Kid’s Zone will feature huge inflatable slides, obstacle courses, bounces, Quad Euro Bungee and more. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides and even camel rides.

CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK FIREWORKS!

DATE: July 4

TIME: 6pm-10pm; Fireworks at 9:45pm

WHAT: Centennial Olympic Park’s Fourth of July Celebration will offer fun and entertainment for the entire family, including free music and the Southeast’s largest fireworks display. The celebration will be broadcast by local ABC affiliate WSB-TV, who won an Emmy for the broadcast in 2012.

ROOFTOP BACKYARD BBQ - SKYLINE PARK

DATE: July 4

TIME: 5pm to 11pm

WHAT: Head to the roof at Ponce City Market for BBQ, live music, entertainment for the family including access to the Slide and Heege Tower, and great views of the fireworks from downtown.

COST: General Admission tickets are only available day of event. $25 adults, $10 children

WHERE: Ponce City Market


INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH THE ATLANTA BRAVES

DATE: July 4

TIME: Game is at 7:35pm with fireworks to follow.

WHAT:  Enjoy fireworks after the game vs. the Astros on Tuesday (game is at 7:35pm)

COST:  Cost of your game ticket. See the website to purchase.


FANTASTIC FOURTH CELEBRATION (STONE MOUNTAIN PARK)

DATES: July 1-4

WHAT: Four Night Celebration! The special patriotic fireworks finale will immediately follow the Lasershow all 4 nights. Arrive early to enjoy fun-filled attractions and special summer entertainment for the whole family.

COST: See Website for specifics. For fireworks only, pay $15 parking, however the lots do fill!

WHERE: Stone Mountain Park


COCA-COLA® JULY 4th FEST (SIX FLAGS OVER GEORGIA)

DATE: July 2 - July 4

TIME: See website for details.

WHAT: Nightly Fireworks Display July 2, 3 and 4 at approximately 9:30pm. Get a spot early in the Metropolis Park District near the American Scream Machine and and Sky Coaster for the best views. Exclusive early ride time (select rides) for one hour before the park opens for all guests who bring a Coca-Cola can to the park.  Purchase a special VIP Package to stay longer in Hurricane Harbor and catch the amazing fireworks show over the Calypso Bay Wave Pool while enjoying an all-you-can-eat buffet. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 6:30pm until dusk for the Coca-Cola VIP Experience.
