AUTTER: The First Rideshare for Teens Launches in Atlanta

Mac Kid Special Offer on Your Teen's First Ride

Autter, the first dependable, safe, personalized transportation rideshare to the metro area’s 1 million teens has launched in Atlanta.  While there are other rideshares nationwide for kids, Autter is the first transportation company to serve the teen population, important because more than 60 percent of the nation’s 29 million teenagers participate in 10 or more hours of extracurricular activities a week according to the U.S. Census. Busy parents report a high rate of difficulty getting their middle and high school aged children back and forth to practices, school, rehearsals, games and social activities. Autter features easy-to-use, innovative mobile technology with the ability for parents and teens to schedule their rides in advance, receive SMS reminders and ride updates, get real-time geo-tracking, use an internal rating system, and pre-load destinations to save time when scheduling. The technology is customized from a delivery service app and uses EvIDent for extensive and trusted background checks on potential drivers.

“We get our laundry and groceries delivered, but we spend hours being frustrated in traffic trying to get our kids everywhere that they need to go,” said Kim Crocker, Autter’s Founder and CEO. “I knew there had to be a better way and Autter was born from my own challenges maintaining my personal and work schedule while simultaneously getting my teen daughter to her myriad sports, school and social commitments on time.”

Reinventing the carpool was Crocker’s solution.  Bringing in co-founder Diane Allers, a pioneer in the field of online and personal security and a fellow parent, allowed the pair to design a system to juggle multiple schedules and layers of comprehensively-designed moving parts necessary to launch a new corporate brand that was transportation focused.  Allers, now Autter’s chief operating officer, and Crocker had kids in the same kindergarten class so for the last 10 plus years have shared frustrations and support while balancing professional and personal obligations. The mom duo is committed to helping other parents and families improve their lives and reduce traffic and driving frustrations in a creative, tech-savvy, high quality and safe manner.

Autter requires families to schedule rides at least 24 hours in advance and many families secure schedules up to a month out. Typical heavy demand hours are weekdays before and after school, 7 – 8:30 a.m. and 3 – 10 p.m. Rides cost an average $25.
