Achieve Micro-Academy is an academic based microschool that embraces nature and the unique natural environment we are surrounded by. Core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Sciences) are taught two days per week, and French lessons will be taught every other week. The group is split into 2 different learning levels for Mathematics and ELA: grades K/1 and grades 2/3. Each group meets every day, but lessons will be split according to academic level. All students learn Social Science and Science together. Because of our unique learning environment and philosophy of the school many of our lessons will be held outdoors and embrace our natural environment. The students will have the opportunity to learn about a unique ecosystem that includes growing food, observing native plants, and pond life. They will have daily responsibilities that help the land around us function and flourish. The program is centered around the needs of the students and families, so the curriculum and structure is fluid based on those needs, my skills, and our resources. The curriculum is standards based, but does not follow a specific program. It will be collaborative, interactive, interdisciplinary and heavily project based. A curriculum map for the school year will be provided at the beginning of the year or upon enrollment.
