Welcome to our resource guide for homeschoolers. Here we will list both weekly recurring and special events geared to homeschoolers.  While focused on Cobb County events, we're happy to list events at larger venues that might interest our readers. WEEKLY EVENTS 

Marietta Ice Center Homeschoolers Ice Skating Program (WEDNESDAYS)
Description: Each Wednesda. Ice skating is a great way to exercise, stay cool and meet friends. Parents enjoy free Wi-Fi too.

MONTHLY EVENTS

October 20 (Thursday) - Escalade Rock Climbing Gym: Homeschool Day
Description: Let the kids climb for only $8 and enjoy pizza too. Younger children (aged 4 and under) can hang out in the Kids Play Area for just $6. This event is held every third Thursday of the month.
Time: 12:00 to 2:00pm
Cost: $8 to climb and pizza for $1/slice. Younger children (aged 4 and under) can hang out in the Kids Play Area for $6.

October 21 (Friday) Homeschool Day at MODA
Description: Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) offers a monthly Home School Day with fun museum-educator-led programming and reduced admission. Home School visits are geared toward students in grades 5-12 and vary in length.
Time: Two Events. 10:00am to 12:00pm & 1:00-2:00pm
Cost: Varies by event

October 31 (Monday) - Homeschool Storytime at Smyrna Library
Description: Each 45 minute thematic story time includes a story appropriate for school-aged children and a related activity and craft. Last Monday of every month.
Time: 11:00 to 11:45am

October 31 (Friday) - Bartow History Museum/Booth Museum: Day of the Dead
Description: Homeschool families get admission to both museums and can learn explore the origins of Dia de los Muertos, learn why this holiday is gaining popularity in the USA, and understand the difference between this holiday & Halloween. Check the website for additional homeschool days throughout the year.
Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm: 
Cost: $5 per student and $3 per chaperone

November 1 (Tuesday) - Homeschool Open Play at Champion Kids

Description: First Tuesday of every month from 1:00 to 2:30pm is Homeschool Open Play/ Jump at Champion Kids in Marietta.
Cost: $8 per child (siblings are only $4)

November 3 (Thursday) -  SkyZone Kennesaw Homeschool Day
Description: Home School Days offer Open Jump, Dodgeball, Sky Slam, and Foam Zone to all home school students of any age. Home School days are the first Thursday of every month during the school year.
Time: 11:30am to 2:30pm
Cost: $9 for 60 minutes, $13 for 90 minutes or $15 for 120 minutes. Socks not included.

November 4 (Friday) - SkyZone Roswell Homeschool Jump

Description: Every first Friday of the month throughout the school year.
Time: 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Cost: Jump for an hour for $7 or two hours for $11

November 8 (Tuesday) - Homeschool "Tuesdays in the Field" at Georgia Aquarium
Description: 'Tuesdays in the Field' is a fascinating field trip for your students to explore the depths of the Aquarium. During this program, home school students and their accompanying adults will have exclusive access to the interactive Discovery Zone for a unique self-paced experience. Georgia Aquarium educators will be positioned at age appropriate activity stations throughout our Discovery Zone and in our classrooms to allow you students to explore, investigate and engage. This is a monthly program.

November 9 (Wednesday) - Homeschool Day at The Southern Museum 
Description: Join the museum on the second Wednesday of each month for the Southern Museum’s Homeschool Workshop Series. Each workshop includes guided activities, tours, or demonstrations, plus a hands-on workshop and will focus on a different train-themed subject. Geared for ages 5-12. 
Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm
Cost: $5

November 14 (Monday) - Homeschool Science Mondays at Chattahoochee Nature Center
Description: Join CNC for exciting science and nature programs planned just for homeschooling students. A perfect addition to your ecology, biology and geology curriculum, Home School Science Mondays are a great way to get hands-on science and nature lessons, receive help on projects and research and network with other homeschooling families. These events take place on Second Mondays September through July.
Time: 2:00-3:00pm
Cost: Included with general admission ($10 adults/$7 seniors & students 13-18/$6 children 3-12). CNC members free.

OCCASIONAL / SPECIAL EVENTS


Wildwood Bi-monthly Earth Art classes at the PEA Studio in Marietta
Description: This is a drop-off style class geared towards children ages 4-10 years old. Fall session theme is: Light & Dark. (Adults may sit and read at the tables outside of the studio inside Champion Kids or take siblings to Open Play in one of the gyms on-site.)
Time: 10:00am to 11:00am, 1st & 3rd Wednesdays.
Cost: Introductory price is $12 /class drop-in, or $60 per session (6 weeks)

October 19 (Wednesday) - The Museum of History and Holocaust Education: WWII on the Homefront
Description: Homeschool days at the museum are held on select Wednesdays for 4th graders and up. August’s class focuses on individuals who joined resistance groups during the holocaust. 
Time: 9:30am to 12:30pm
Cost: FREE
Reservations: Sign up in advance online as many classes fill up early (currently a waitlist for the October class).

November 18 (Friday) - High Museum of Art Homeschool Days
Description: The High Museum of Art offers special programming just for homeschool families on selected days throughout each year. Each day will focus on a featured artist, theme, or exhibition and there will be docent-guided tours and art-making. This program comes at no additional cost with the price of museum admission.

Cost: $7 per homeschool student, Regular museum admission price for adult

December 7 (Monday)
 - Atlanta History Center Home School Day: Holidays in History, Christmas at War
Description: On the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, experience how Christmas was celebrated during times of war, from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWI and WWII and Vietnam.
Time: 10:30am to 3:30pm
Cost: $8.50 nonmembers; $6.50 children of members; free for adult members
Reservations: Not needed. Purchase tickets in advance online or at AHC. Group discounts for 10 or more children available.
