Summer Fun Begins Now!

Your Weekly Events & Activities Newsletter for Smyrna, Vinings, Marietta & Beyond

May 23, 2012

The boys have just gone to bed and tomorrow is Drew's last day of first grade. Wow. Time goes by SO quickly. Jack has one more week of Pre-K (round one). Oh those late birthdays....

I've spent much of the day compiling information for the Food Truck article you'll see below. I don't think I can wait very long to try out the new Food Truck Park at Howell Mill. Plus I want to report back on it! Seems like a great place for a Macaroni Meetup perhaps. I wonder if there's a pasta truck....I know there's bocce ball! Anyway, I'll be giving something food related to someone who comments on the post - don't ask me what. I don't know! I'm waiting to be inspired. But take a look...

Sometimes I'm so happy to have this newsletter, just so that when I'm done, I can look through it, and find events to attend myself! I'm looking forward to media night at JERSEY BOYS at the Fox on Friday. Little League is over...sad, but I have my Saturdays back for a while (of course we've added swim lessons to our weeknight routine).

This Sunday SVM Macaroni Kid is sponsoring the final Sunday Funday of the season at East Cobb Park! Come see us from 3-7pm. Jay Memory will be performing, and it should be a great day (I haven't dared look at the forecast...it's too early!).

We'll be spending Memorial Day at Turner Field. If you're a baseball fan, make sure to either look at THIS WEEK'S PICKS, or CLICK HERE to see what the Braves have in store for the weekend. There will be fireworks, a free concert by Scotty McCreery and much more.

If you're staying in town, there is plenty to do! Stone Mountain's Memorial Day Weekend is one of their biggest of the year. They're offering special discounts to members of the military as well. Smyrna will host a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday morning at 9:30am. Special events are being held throughout the weekend at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. And the Atlanta Jazz Festival is here too.  But there's no reason for me to keep listing, because all these events are in the picks below.

Finally, these summer camp deals for the week of June 4 are still available!

D-BAT Atlanta Baseball Camps - Save 10% on camp for the week of June 4-8 when you mention Macaroni Kid (normal price $249, with discount, $225).

Moore's Chinese Martial Arts:  Sign up for a 1 year commitment and you will receive one month standard tuition FREE when you mention Macaroni Kid. Save $30 on June 4-8 Summer Camp too when you mention Macaroni Kid!

SUMMER IS HERE!!! I can't wait for the fun (and to sleep in just a bit later...). Have a fantastic weekend!

PS: Congrats to last week's contest winners: Melody K won the incredibly popular World of Coca-Cola giveaway, and Laura K won the tickets to Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta (FYI if you live in Fulton County, Saturday is Fulton County Family Day - it's BOGO tickets. I didn't list since we're not in Fulton County!)
