WIN A BOOK ! "Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies"

Plus, See Jack Do His Best Zombie Impression

October 25, 2012
Monsters and creepy crawlies can terrify kids, so the latest release by horror author and screenwriter Rob Fox (an Atlanta resident) provides an interactive journey helping children make sense of their fears. Fox’s new book, Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies, published just in time for Halloween, follows the adventures of a little boy who gets scared watching a zombie movie with his parents.  Scroll down to see how you can win an autographed copy of the book!

After seeing the film, the boy is worried that there’s a zombie hiding under his bed, but his mommy assures him that the scariest thing there is a pair of his smelly shoes. The boy also faces bad dreams, closet monsters and other imagined goblins; each encounter is explored and explained by an understanding grown up, and ultimately the boy learns what is and isn’t real.  The book asks kids questions about what scares them and prompts them to draw pictures of frightening things.

“I want kids to enjoy the horror genre without being scared,” said Rob, who explained that he decided to write the book because he thought other horror books for kids were too frightening.  “When I would read other horror books to kids, they would get scared by the pictures and content.  My goal was to have a cartoon-y look with a positive message that would appeal to the right age group.”

“Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies” is available on Amazon.com for $9.99. It is Rob Fox's first children's book. You can also visit his webpage for all things Rob Fox at www.zdayishere.com.
