Civil Engineering Summer Camp Description
The Civil Engineering Camp at SPSU provides an excellent opportunity for students 12-18 to investigate engineering as a potential major and career. The camp workshop is designed to introduce high school and middle school students to engineering concepts, hands-on laboratory experiences, and hands-on building projects. Student will learn about Load Path, Construction Materials, and Truss Bridges. Campers also get the opportunity to compete in the 6th annual Balsa Bridge Competition.

Computer Applications in Civil Engineering (West Point Bridge Design Software)
Tuesday-Thursday:
Balsa Wood Bridge Competition
Building home model out of Toothpicks or Spaghetti
Friday:
Civil Engineering Laboratory Experiments and Demonstrations
Tensile and Torsion Test
Shaking Table test
Play Pool and Ping Pong Γ’ΛΒΊ
Camp Highlights
Refreshments will be provided everyday!
Construction Materials will be provided; balsa wood, toothpicks, and Spaghetti
