REVIEW: Cuisinart Rotisserie Convection Toaster Oven

Also a Perfect Gift for The Holidays!

By Michelle Sisco November 26, 2014
When we were looking at houses, I was hoping that just maybe I'd find one with double ovens - or at least have the option of installing double ovens one day without a major kitchen overhaul. Things didn't work out that way, but in reality, I rarely have the need for two full size ovens. It's just on those special occasions - and during the holidays - that trying to figure out how to heat a casserole while the turkey is still baking, for example - are particularly challenging!

Well I have my solution, thanks to Cuisinart and their awesome Rotisserie Convection Toaster Oven.  I jumped at the chance to review this product. Yes, it's a toaster oven...but it is BIG (21" x 16" x 14")! That's large enough to toast six slices of bread, a 12" pizza or even a 4-pound chicken!! (And a good sized casserole too!).

That said, it really doesn't take up that much room on my counter. Less than a microwave certainly. And now instead of heating up the main oven to warm something simple like a dozen dinner rolls, I can use this toaster oven instead.  (I haven't tried to put a 12-inch pizza in there, but next time I buy a Boboli we're going for it.)

I love the digital controls with large blue backlit LCD display. Plus, 1875 watts of power heats the unit quickly and ensures precise cooking. The convection option provides faster and more even baking and cooking. Also, the oven rack can be placed in four different positions, depending on if you are baking, broiling, toasting, etc. The oven featuring brushed-stainless steel and an easy clean nonstick interior too. What more could you need?

Of course this is labeled a "Rotisserie" oven. I have to admit - I'm a little afraid of trying to bake my own chicken or duck - since that's not something I normally do anyway. However, the manual that comes with the product is incredibly thorough and even contains a host of recipes - so maybe one day I'll try those cornish hens they recommend.  Regardless, this oven has so many uses, it really can serve as that "second" oven you might not have in your house. And just how wonderful will that be on Thanksgiving Day!

Need a gift for a loved one? Put this on your shopping list. I'm sure you'll make someone's holiday extra special.
