Masterpieces” Summer Art Camp 2015 at Mable House Arts Center

Spend your summer the creative way! At the Mable House Art we offer both full and part day camps that are flexible to your family’s needs. Each week hosts different themes and projects, allowing your child’s innovative abilities to be stretched. We offer art, dance, theatre, music and art detectives. Our camp runs weekly from June 1st-July 24th. Mix and Match your camps to create a whole day of fun for children ages 4-16.

Hours:
Hours vary depending on camps chosen. Morning Camps begin at 9:00am and campers can be dropped off at 8:45am. Depending on the camps, students can be at camp until 4:30pm. 
Cost: Full Day ranges from $170-240 per week for Residents of Cobb County and $235-290 per week for Non-Residents of Cobb County. A la Carte Half Days vary.

Camp Descriptions:

Mornings 9am-12:30pm

June 1-5 

Heroes & Sheroes—Ages 4-8
Learn about the Heroes & Sheroes of storybooks and history while making your creations.

Cosplay Costumes & Trick Photography—Ages 9-16
Create your own super heroes & fantasy character costumes out of unconventional materials. Learn the tricks of photography with your camera. No iphone, ipad or camera phones allowed. Must bring an actual digital camera.   
June 8-12

Animal Planet—Ages 4-8
Discover the wild planet of animals and create your own creatures. 

Magnificent Masks & Sculpture—Ages 9-16       
Create 3-demensional sculptures and masks with clay, plastic, paper mache and more!
June 15-19 

Under The Sea –Ages 4-8
The sea is full of mystical wonders that you’ll recreate, and perhaps dream up your own. 

Comics, Illustrations & Book Creations—Ages 9-16
Learn the art of comics and illustrations as you publish and make your own book. 
June 22-26 

Out of this World—Ages 4-8
Make space creations and art that is out of this world!

Theatrical Effects & Movie Props—Ages 9-16    
Learn all the tricks of the theatre with movie props and special effects.
July 6-10 

Terrific Travels—Ages 4-8
Tour the globe as you create art from various cultures. 

Concoctions & Creative Designs—Ages 9-16     
Using science discover chemical reactions, physical effects and even edible science. Design your own packages to hold your concoctions. 
July 13-17

Artful Antics—Ages 4-8
Learn how kinetics and music inspire art

Draw, Paint & Print—Ages 9-16     
Create your masterpieces by using drawing, painting and printing.
July 20-24

Fabulous Food Art—Ages 4-8
Food can be art too! Don’t be fooled by its delicious look, it is just art! 

Trash 2 Treasures—Ages 9-16      
Recycle found objects and create 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional art. Feel free to donate materials. (Wood scraps, plastic bottles, buttons, washers, nuts and more)

Clay Experience (Age 7-13)
Play in the mud as you create functional and decorative pieces out of clay! 

Creative Dramatics (Ages 7-10)
Be ready to act! You’ll learn basic acting skills and put on a small performance for your family at the end of the week!

Art Explorations (Ages 4-6)
We will explore a variety of materials to create art! Different projects each week!

My 1st Theatre (Ages 4-6)
Even the tiniest tots can learn to act! These rising stars will perform at the end of the week for their family!
Tiny Dancers(Ages 4-6)
Learn some choreographed dance skills and be ready to shine for your family at the performance on Friday!

Drumming (Ages 7-10) 
Learn the rhythm of the drums in this one week only class! Show off your beats to your family on Friday!

Techniques in Art (Ages 10-16)
Each week discover all the possibilities in art! Explore and create in different media each week! Each week discover new techniques including: Draw, Paint & Print, Manga & Anime, Art Adventures, Pottery & Sculpture, Nature of Art, Passion for Fashion, Trash to Treasures, Creature Design, and “Fabric”ating.

Summer Stock 2015 –The Theatre Project (ages 9-18)
This is a two week acting program. At the end of two weeks you will perform a musical production! Every one registered will receive a part. Call 770-819-3285 to register. 

Art Detectives (ages 7-10)
Discover the wonderful crafts of the past! Each week focuses on learning about historical arts and activities including themes like Native American Crafts, Music, and Storytelling.
