Are you ready to cool off? Based on the response to my facebook post about this park, I think everyone is ready for summer!

What's your favorite place to cool off in the summer? Do you have a favorite splash park? Please comment below if you do as I'll be putting together an article of some great places to cool down this summer!

Cobb's newest water park attraction opened for children of all ages on Saturday, May 23rd. The water park at Wildhorse Creek Park will provide cool water fun and has four unique areas. The activity pool is 4 feet deep and will have an in-water seating area and two basketball backboards. The spray-play area has many spray and fountain features. Behind the activity pool are two water slides. They exit into a 3.5 foot splash area that is connected to a leisure river of the same depth.

There will be pavilions available to rent as well as chairs and picnic tables on the deck. There will also be a concession stand for food and refreshments. Admission prices are the same as the county's indoor aquatic centers: $2.12 for seniors age 60 and older, $3.50 for youth and $4.50 for adults. Cobb aquatic center membership passes will be accepted at the water park. The hours of operation will be 1-6 p.m., Friday-Sunday and 1-7:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Wild Horse Creek Park is located at 3820 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs.

Sewell Pool and Splash Pad  also opened Saturday, May 23. The pool is located at 2055 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta. Hours of operation will be 1-7:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 1-5 p.m., Friday-Sunday. Groups and rentals are available. For more information, call 770-528-8465.
